After 2011′s disappointing modern day Mexican drug war themed Call of Juarez: The Cartel, this return to the Wild West is very welcome. You play as bounty hunter Silas Greaves as you regale some locals with tales and truths from your past. Available as a download-only game for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, Gunslinger costs £11.99 (for PS3 and PC) or 1200 Microsoft Points, and sees the series return to the Wild West.

If y’all looking for a cheap, fun Western shooter then, y’all need look no further than Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. There are some issues with the mechanics underlying the movement and aiming controls, but once you get used to this, Gunslinger is nothing short of an enjoyable, tongue-in-cheek Western that gives you your money’s worth; nothing more, nothing less.

It’s great to see Techland bringing Call of Juarez back to its rootin’ tootin’ Wild West setting.

I went into Blood Dragon thinking I was going to hate it. My beloved memories of Far Cry 3 would be tarnished by all the garish neon and stupid dragons as Far Cry’s name was dragged through the mud to make an extra buck. I am happy to report, however, that I was wrong.

If 2007 is the future, as Blood Dragon suggests, then it’s definitely time to grab your mini-gun, stick on your best Arnie impression, and go outside and shoot stuff into oblivion.

Star Trek Into Darkness, with its excellent script, brilliant acting, gorgeous visuals, rousing soundtrack, and well-timed comedy, is a fairly predictable but thoroughly enjoyable sci-fi blockbuster that should please old and new fans alike. It’s a must see for all sci-fi, Star Trek, and Abrams fans, and soars miles higher than Iron Man could ever dream of.

I have to admit that Fuse almost completely slipped under my radar; I guess I must have been too busy collecting (almost literally) billions of ancient Chinese plate fragments to 100% complete Tomb Raider. Nonetheless, Insomniac Games’ Fuse demo is now available to download from Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network ahead of its end of May release.

Based on my first impressions from Fuse’s demo, it’s not a game that I’ll be rushing out to buy on release day. If you’re looking for an online and offline co-op shooter and you’re bored of Gears of War, or own a PS3, then Fuse looks like it might fill that gap for you. If you’re primarily a single-player gamer, like me, then it’s hard from the demo to recommend Fuse. As the demo is free it’s worth downloading it and seeing for yourself, but if that’s not on option then my first impressions are telling me Fuse is the sort of game worth picking up in the sales, when it’s pre-owned or as a rental.

Fuse is an original IP comprised of unoriginal ideas, and if the demo is anything to go by, Fuse is the jack of all trades, but the master of none.

I’m passionate about gaming. Most of you will also be passionate about something in geek-culture unless, that is, you’ve stumbled upon this website by complete accident, in which case I guess this is goodbye. Whether you’re passionate about gaming, films, TV, or comic books though, you’ll probably agree that very occasionally something truly special comes along in that respective field.

When that something special comes along in gaming, for me it’s accompanied by a special feeling (no, not that kind of feeling!) That feeling is best summarised as a sorrow at the thought that I’ll never get to experience that game again for the first time.

I’m sure it’s not just me who has experienced this though. I’m sure you will have felt similar things with other games. Or when watching films, reading books, or listening to music for the first time. I’d love to hear about your stories; those times when you’ve experienced that realisation that you will never have that first-time moment with a film, game, TV show, or book again and it makes you feel a bit sad. Like the untold stories of gaming, these are the untold stories of geekdom; and now it’s time for them to be heard.

The Bakersfield Expedition is one of those The Big Bang Theory episodes that comes along once in a while and serves to remind you just why this show has, and continues to be, so successful.

There’s a moment in Iron Man 3 where Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes says he finds his current situation “embarrassing”. It’s an ironically appropriate statement, as Iron Man 3 is in itself an embarrassment, and by far the weakest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date.

Iron Man 3 is the first truly disappointing entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s not a terrible film, and I would watch it again, but it’s nowhere near as good as I hoped it would be, or it should have been. The film ends by promising us that Tony Stark, if not Iron Man, will return. After Iron Man 3 though, it’s hard to tell if that’s a promise, or a threat.

“A woman is like an egg salad sandwich on a warm Texas day: full of eggs and only appealing for a short time” – Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

The Egg Salad Equivalency brings the focus of The Big Bang Theory back to Leonard and Penny’s relationship; arguably the main theme of the show since it’s inception. This is accompanied by some truly inspired Sheldon-centric comedy, all of which combines to make a great episode of The Big Bang Theory.

This episode revolves around a Christmas themed game of Dungeons and Dragons, and is titled “The Santa Simulation”. Whilst there might not be many stand-out funny moments, the writers deserve credit for creating a clever Christmas episode and developing Raj’s, Amy’s, and Sheldon’s characters a little.

“Since 1996 Lara Croft has been one of gaming’s greatest heroines. With appearances across all major platforms (Sega Saturn, PlayStation, PC, Mac, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) in the last 17 years, it’s fair to say that there’s never been a stronger or more prominent female character in all of gaming. It’s not always been smooth sailing for Lara though, with plenty of highs and lows since her first video game outing.”
